Product Description

General Information :

Acrylates Copolymer (Esther-123) is an excellent rheology modifier, alkali-swellable anionic acrylic polymer emulsion, lightly crosslinked. It provides the convenience of a liquid while delivering unique benefits to surfactant-based cleansing products. It is designed to impart efficient suspending and stabilizing, as well as thickening properties in a formulation which contains high level of surfactants. It is able to produce very clear formulations containing high level of surfactants. It works synergistically with surfactants and salt resulting in efficient suspending, stabilizing, and thickening property. It allows for suspending, stabilization, and thickening of low pH systems, insoluble and difficult-to stabilize ingredients such as silicones can be co-emulsified and stabilized. It also has the remarkable ability to enhance the pearlescent appearance of surfactant formulations. It can be widely used in personal cleansing products.

 

Acrylates Copolymer (Esther-123A) is an excellent rheological modifier and suspension stabilizer. (Esther-123A) has the same performance as most Acrylates Copolymer when it is neutral. (Esther-123A) can give excellent suspension stability and excellent thickening performance in transparent formula with high surfactant content. At the same time, (Esther-123A) can produce synergistic thickening effect with salt in surfactant system, so as to produce more effective suspension, stability and thickening performance. The advantage is that (Esther-123A) can still maintain its excellent performance when the system is alkaline, so this product can be used for neutral pH value formula system and alkaline formula system.

Esther-123A :

Formula guidelines :

Esther-123 :

The minimum recommended dosage of Esther-123 polymer in surfactant-based products is 5.0% as supplied (1.5% active). The dosage depends on the amount of surfactant and salt for additional thickening. If the formulation hasn’t salt or has low surfactant actives, typical dosage is 8-10% as supplied (2.4-3.0% active).

 

In most situations, Esther-123 polymer can be added to the free water of a formulation with gentle mixing at the start of the batching process. At this point, the pH will be about 3, resulting in very low viscosity. Upon addition of a base, the polymer will be neutralized, resulting in immediate increase in suspending properties and viscosity.

 

Esther-123A :

Dilute Esther-123A : with water at 1: 1, add it into the formula and stir it evenly, then add organic or inorganic alkali to adjust the pH of the formula, add other components in the formula, stir it evenly, and adjust the pH and viscosity to the required range.

Recommended dosage: 5-8%, more than 7% is recommended for the formulation of suspended particles.

Storage: 

(1) The temperature during storage and transportation must be controlled at 5-35 ℃. 

(2) Ice must be strictly avoided, which will lead to demulsification of the product and cannot be used any more.
